Nouryon - has an outstanding opportunity for an International Logistics Team Lead.  




The International Logistics Team Lead is responsible for execution of daily end to end international shipment activities and supervision to Specialists responsible for international shipment activities.

Specific Tasks:
- Lead team responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring transportation, including reporting and import and export documentation for international shipments
- Act as an effective leader of the modal team, build strong relationships and team, commit to the growth of individuals on team, and lead by example
- Ensure all logistics activities are performed in keeping with logistics objectives and at the most optimal cost and customer service level
- Support implementation of process improvement and cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency and service
- Maintain and monitor KPIs, identifying and implementing improvements where needed
- Develop staff by organizing training sessions and support Hub Manager by providing input to performance reviews, as well as recommendations for hiring, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions
- Motivate staff to make an effective and efficient self-driven team
- Manage relationships with logistics providers, customs brokers, and government agencies
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with core logistics providers to ensure outlined service requirements are being met and identify performance improvement initiatives
- Communicate performance updates, progress of improvement initiatives, and challenges to Hub Manager on an ongoing, proactive basis
- Coordinate with Logistics and Business Unit leaders to ensure that performance is aligned with organizational needs
- Ensure timely planning, execution, and monitoring of all shipments to ensure customer service needs are met
- Review accuracy and performance of planning, execution, monitoring, import / export, and reporting activities to ensure effective processes and controls are in place
- Coordinate with operations to develop forecasts of modal transportation volume
- Validate availability and secure transport mode capacity in alignment with expected volumes and forecasts
- Lead and model Nouryon Values to include driving code of conduct compliance at all times





Job Requirements

- Minimum 7 years’ experience in logistics / supply chain
- At least 2 years’ experience managing teams
- Experience with chemical companies is preferred
- Proven leadership skills including leading a team with a clear objectives, results-orientation, change catalyst, and developing people
- Demonstrated knowledge and leadership experience in managing logistics activities for a functional team
- Ability to develop and execute operational goals
- Experience identifying and executing process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cost and / or improving service level
- Strong analytical skills and abilities
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, including global team members and third parties
- Ability to make effective decisions based on data available while setting a clear path forward
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quickly develop a solution
- Experience with logistics provider, customs broker, and government agency relationship management and performance evaluations
- Demonstrated understanding of international shipping requirements in the supported countries within the region
- Strong understanding of import and export activities
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word)
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field from 4-year accredited college or university
