The Maintenance Technician primary objectives are to take ownership of the maintenance functions in the plant and to perform routine mechanical maintenance duties in a chemical manufacturing environment.   The Maintanence Technician should be able to work independently to complete tasks, troubleshoot problems, order parts, and will have coordinate and work with outside contractors.  The Maintanence Technician needs to ensure we have inventory of needed parts and materials to keep the plant operational.  This position will be on-call to perform work on an as-needed basis.  The Mechanical Technician is responsible for and has authority for the following listed items once his/her training is completed and certification is earned. The Mechanical Technician person is responsible for pointing out any gaps in training. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

•    Comply with Federal, State, Local and Company HSE standards and guidelines
•    Participate in the Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) program, operations coordinator is responsible for ensuring that procedures are performed as documented
•    Identify, try to resolve and report hazards/near-misses. Report all property damage
•    Contribute to the development of HSE objectives and offer suggestions for improvement in the plant
•    Daily maintenance of mechanical process equipment using documented maintenance procedures
•    Management/procurement of spare parts using documented assessment procedures under maintenance and approved vendor listings
•    To operate the maintenance budget within limitations set forth by the Plant Manager
•    Implementing and/or correcting preventative/predictive maintenance concerns according to documented procedures
•    Management/design of new or retrofit process modifications (projects, contract work, etc.)
•    Perform on-site welding related to process equipment 
•    Perform minor repairs and calibration of electrical/instrumentation equipment (level of repairs and calibration is based on experience and knowledge)
•    Assist electrical/instrumentation personnel (either Nouryon or contracted) in completion of field electrical/instrumentation work
•    Additional responsibilities may be expanded in the future upon further review

 

Qualifications: 

•    Education minimum of High School or equivalent
•    Experience in Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechanical systems and/or Chemical systems
•    Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the areas of Maintenance and Reliability  
•    Manufacturing experience
