Chemist Oilfield for Natural Resources R&D.
The Natural Resources North American R&D team focuses on the properties of surfactants and soluble polymers in a diverse range of Oilfield, Fuel, Lubrication, and Mining applications. This position is located in our Bridgewater, NJ lab and works closely with global RD colleagues.

Primary Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will join the Nouryon Chemicals team and be responsible for carrying out the formulation and testing of ingredients used in various Natural Resource application areas, including primarily Oilfield chemistry, but also lubes, fuels, and water treatment.
- Carrying out, analyze, and report detailed experiments.
- Organizing and maintaining a high-quality laboratory space.
- Exhibiting highest levels of safety – learning and implementing safety protocols.
- Maintaining safety records, notebooks, reports, ordering and stocking laboratory supplies.
- Learning scientific principles of applications to demonstrate performance and quality of products.
- Learning and improving experimental skills, including statistical design of experiment, surface and interfacial science, and oilfield and petroleum science and engineering.
- Communicating results clearly with a diverse global team.
- Interfacing with principal investigators, tech service engineers, analytical and synthesis teams, and safety and regulatory specialists.
Education & Experience
- BS or MS in Chemistry or Oilfield Technology
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Interest in experimental chemistry and industrial chemistry with experience in Oilfield, Lubrication, or Lubrication a plus
- Organized and effect laboratory scientist
- Correct and safe use of methods and tools in the chemical laboratory.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business colleagues.
Travel 5-10% as required
