The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for the deployment and execution of Operational Excellence activities within ISC Operations with key focus on our manufacturing sites. The position supports and coaches site teams and eventual other functional teams in improving their performance.
The OpEx Manager:
- defines, plans and leads specific improvement projects at sites and occasionally in functions
- identifies performance losses/gaps and defines opportunities for improvement in key areas
- runs improvement projects, trains and guides on the Nouryon standard processes (ALPS), tools and systems
- works primarily in the region but, as required, will assist in initiatives on a global basis.
- operates across functional lines to drive change and improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
- must be passionate about continuous improvement, effective change agent, highly capable project leader, skilled instructor.
- should be a knowledgeable in the operational/manufacturing processes, the Nouryon ISC processes, tools and systems and a L6S and ALPS content expert
- is a key resource for the ISC organization in identifying improvement opportunities and in facilitating and running execution, achieve our strategic and specifically ISC targets and in helping to build a long term operational excellence / continuous improvement culture.
- Drives and delivers specific operational excellence programs, improvement projects and initiatives within ISC, occasionally could also be improvement initiatives in Business or other functions
- Identifies improvement opportunities and facilitates and runs execution of improvement within sites and functions. As such is a key improvement/CI contact for one or more dedicated sites
- Focus on performance of key areas for sites and occasionally in the region, coach and ask/follow up on improvements. As such need to be knowledgeable on the manufacturing/operational processes in the sites
- Serves, along with other OpEx managers, as the technical expert on the use and training of Lean Six Sigma (L6S) and on the use of the Nouryon ISC processes tools and systems
- Offers a clear sense of direction, motivating and empowering the project-/site teams and functional teams to enable them to carry out their performance delivery responsibilities with confidence
- Builds teamwork through engagement. Aligns project team members by sharing information, tying their work and goals to the ISC and Company vision and values
- Delivers initial training to site CIM’s and functions and, as needed, throughout the organization
- Supports the development of tools and models that will enable the site, function as such the ISC organisation to learn and continuously improve knowledge, engagement and use of operational excellence, ALPS, Lean and 6S in daily activities
- Assists in the development and deployment of the operational excellence program and initiatives and helps provide visibility of the program across the organisation
- Responsible for driving delivery and completion of improvement projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree minimum. Degrees related to technical, supply chain, engineering or related fields are most appropriate
- Proven continuous improvement, Lean experience and/or certified L6S Black Belt.
- Extensive knowledge and expert use in Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- Experience in Operational (manufacturing, supply chain) experiences/knowledge and project management
- Demonstrated high performance levels and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
