The Production Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Plant Process/ Production troubleshooting
  • Production Utilization and Process Efficiency
  • Continuous Improvement

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day technical and engineering support to the operating areas
  • Strong knowledge of process technology
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of production issues related to equipment, processes, quality, controls, and systems
  • Ownership of all aspects of the assigned production units (VMC, Yields, OEE, and HSE)
  • Initiate and complete process changes as well as support others with fact preparation in MOC process
  • Provides plant expertise during process related troubleshooting, in Hazard studies, in choice of technical solutions and establishing optimized operating windows.
  • Provide support to the HSE&S Manager in process safety and environmental occurrences.
  • Reaches out for advice to other process engineers within the direct network, external expertise or to the global technology group for complex process related issues
  • Assist in training of operations on equipment and new technologies
  • Monitor and assess AUM/PEM data and create reports (e.g.Pareto) that identify improvement opportunities within production.
  • Ensures measuring systems and calculation conventions are in place to generate production loss data, that the data is complete and of good quality.
  • Assess variations in production and propose focus areas for variable cost drivers in AUM/PEM process.
  • Develops plans to improve plant performance through focused improvement activities (in conjunction with plant management team) along with capital projects.
  • For capital projects, perform initial projects scoping and business case development. Act as project lead or hand over to a project group for execution
  • Work with Global technology group, R&D, and the plant for the process development/changes ensuring that changes on site are controlled and managed
  • Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness by elimination of technology and material losses
  • Support Production manager in establishment of MAC’s, BOM’s as well as establishment in primary and secondary drivers in PEM
  • Support/challenge Production Manager in monthly loss evaluations and selection of improvement topics

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Chemical Engineering
  • 2-4 years of experience within a production or process engineer role from the chemical industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong knowledge in Process Technologies, Process Safety and Risk Management
  • Brown Belt certification an asset
