About the Job:
Production Operators at the Fort Worth plant are responsible for the operation of the sulfonation and neutralization processes in a safe and environmentally friendly manner to deliver product of the highest quality and correct quantity in accordance with production schedules, standard operating procedures and management instructions.
In your future as Production Operator you will:
- Ensure Safety: Prioritize your own safety and that of colleagues, contractors, visitors, and the community.
- Perform Safety Inspections: Conduct forklift safety inspections and weekly eyewash/safety shower checks.
- Issue Work Permits: Be trained to issue safe work practice permits and monitor activities in your process area, including exclusion zones.
- Control Site Entry: Manage access to the site effectively.
- Participate in BBS: Engage in the Behavior-Based Safety process at the Fort Worth plant.
- Attend Safety Meetings: Regularly join safety meetings to stay updated.
- Take Part in Industrial Hygiene Program: Participate in yearly physical exams, noise and air quality monitoring, and respirator fit testing.
- Report Environmental Issues: Utilize the ZRI system to report spills and leaks. Complete required environmental inspections and checklists.
- Sample and Quality Checks: Sample products and take them to the lab for quality checks. Monitor process control data to ensure product quality.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report malfunctions via SAP.
- Training: Complete all necessary training for the job and ISO qualification. Provide on-the-job training for new or transferring employees.
- Blend Materials: Safely blend corrosive and flammable materials in glass-lined pressure vessels, maintaining required pressure, flow rate, and temperature.
- Neutralize Products: Handle corrosive materials along with lime and slurry mix to adjust pH levels.
- Monitor Water Systems: Oversee plant water outflow, maintain wastewater pit pH, and operate the oil skimmer system.
- Receive and Unload Materials: Manage raw material receipts and unloading when needed.
- Process and Transfer Products: Drum finished products, blend batches, and manage scrap materials as required.
- Maintain Housekeeping: Ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Accurate Tank Gauging: Perform precise tank gauging.
- Operate Equipment: Safely operate Sulfonator and Pfaudler reactors, Lime Slaker, scrubber system, cooling tower, and chiller system.
- Freeze Protection: Set up areas for freeze protection as needed.
- Shift Change Info: Provide accurate relief information at shift changes.
- Monitor Process Controls: Keep track of process temperatures, flow rates, subsystem operations, product transfers, and sample products to ensure Quality Control.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Address problems promptly when they occur.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate batch ticket records during your shift.
- Product Transfers: Transfer products from the Sulfonation area to the Liquid area as required.
- Perform General Duties: Engage in Sulfonation, Liquid, Loader/Unloader operations, and general plant duties. Provide on-the-job training for new or transferring employees.
- Other Tasks: Perform any additional tasks as deemed necessary by supervision.
We believe you bring:
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Certifications: Forklift operation training and certification (preferred).
- Skills: Proficiency with email and SAP software. Training in loading/unloading acid and oil rail cars, and in Sulfonation, Liquid, Loader/Unloader operations.
- Procedure Adherence: Must be able to follow established procedures accurately.
- Physical Ability: Capable of ascending/descending stairs and ladders, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility: Able to reach overhead, kneel, and bend.
- PPE: Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment: hardhats, safety glasses, goggles, shields, aprons, earplugs, and safety shoes.
- Respirator Fit: Must pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear a respirator during applicable operations.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor in Fort Worth, TX.
