Global Static Equipment CoE Engineer
The Global Static Equipment CoE Engineer is the functional leader of the global static equipment team and is responsible for the global static strategy and its implementation. The Global Static Equipment CoE Engineer works closely with the regional M&R support teams to assess performance opportunities and MI gaps; to identify needs for standards and practices, to support deployment of standards and practices, to develop skills within the regional teams, and to leverage external good practices (MTI) and internal good practices across the company.
The Global Static Equipment CoE Engineer also maintains networks outside Nouryon in order to capture developments and learnings that are relevant for Nouryon as well.

In your future role as Global Static Equipment CoE Engineer you will
- Monitor adherence to standards and static equipment reliability.
- Advise regional teams on how to drive improvement in reliability of static equipment
- Advise Nouryon leadership regarding Static Equipment strategy
- Design and maintain standards regarding design and mechanical integrity of static equipment
- Support deployment of standards across the regions and sites.
- Identify good practices and drive deployment of these good practices across the regions and sites (e.g. “bolted joints”).
- Advise in selection of software tools to support MI in static equipment (e.g. RBI).
- Assess inspection techniques and drive application of state of the art inspection techniques across the regions and sites.
- Monitor and if needed, support root cause analysis/root cause problem solving for serious failures. Drive quality of RCA. Drive application of learnings across sites/regions.
- Support design for reliability by setting up design standards (e.g. materials of construction for common media, selection of seals, construction standards)
- Assess CAPEX project charters for urgency
- Support CAPEX project design for reliability
We believe you bring
- Mechanical engineering degree or similar field of study (bachelor’s or master’s)
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years preferred) in and deep knowledge of Static equipment: mechanical integrity, materials of construction, damage mechanisms, fitness for service and inspection techniques in the Chemical Industry.
- Active knowledge on standards and codes and their application on static equipment (including piping): API, ASTM, ASME, European standards and GB codes.
- Experience in at least a regional Static Equipment role; setting standards and driving implementation across multiple sites.
- Certification in API 510, API 570, API 579, or other applicable codes and standards is desirable
- Ability to strategize and able to get into sufficient detail
- Focus on achieving results; ability to challenge and motivate people to achieve results
- Passion for world class maintenance and reliability
- Ability to take info from real life observations & eagerness to spend time on shop-floor
- Good communication skills & ability to influence and get things done without having a line management relation

- Good problem-solving skills, ability to identify & structure issues, run accurate analyses and synthesize solutions
