Guideline management to deliver HSE policy, set the culture and manage hazards
Processes: Build line management understanding of IH Systems, OSHA regulatory changes and ensure necessary pre-employee screenings, ongoing/periodic medical surveillance & health screenings, IH plans and monitoring existing
Capability: Develop IH expertise in the region. Leverage H&S expertise to support all sites in the region
Delivery: Support directly H&S improvement activities at the sites within the region. Guide line management to deliver IH programs, and proactive manage hazards, and improve risk recognition
•Be an influential advisor to line management by building and fostering a deep understanding of the theoretical concepts, regional regulatory requirements and industry standards and best practices focused on Health and Safety systems
•Provide leadership and coaching to the Health & Safety Experts in the region with a very strong emphasis on personal development.
•Leverage and extend Health & Safety knowledge through personal engagement.
•Develop Nouryon training materials and provide workshops /webinars on safety including risk management, JSA, BBS, Industrial Hygiene, injury case management, safety leadership etc.
•Guide line management to implement Health & Safety procedures, templates and tools This includes future auditing and compliance activities.
•Take actions to implement consistent tools globally for Health & Safety effectiveness (JSA, BBS, ROD, Risk Management, injury case management etc.
•Lead or participate in incident investigations and review investigations in the region for effectiveness.
•Drive incident learning and communications
•Spend time engaging with health& safety specialists
•Act as a role model for ensuring IH continuous improvement)
•Contribute to the development of the Nouryon HSE&S strategy.
Includes design, deployment and delivery of the Nouryon HSE&S management systems.
•Serve as an internal auditor and incident investigator for the region and globally when applicable
•Must be able to travel 30% (domestic and international)
8-10 years experience in the Health& Safety in a chemicals manufacturing environment. Site based experience important.
Broad and specialized knowledge of the Nouryon HSE functional role and HSE management systems and programs, as well as external benchmarks
Bachelor, masters or doctorate level qualification in HSE or engineering or related discipline.
•Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through;
•Positive influencing: ability to convince others, gain agreement or acceptance of plans, activities and ability to move others willingly towards a desired goal or course of action;
•Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards;
•Able to work in an inclusive way in the HSE&S community to make sure the global, regional and site level teams collective objectives are met
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation, problem solving, project management, business acumen;
•Very good verbal and written English language skills; Local language skills
•Relevant experience in different multiple units, disciplines, locations and/or other companies;
