We are looking for a dynamic individual for our HRBP position.  The HRBP will provide HR expertise to the site on organizational capability and design in order to deliver business strategy and lead pro-active HR support to the business in order to realize future strategies and plans.  Implement labor relations programs to oversee compliance with the union's negotiated contract.  In addition, partner with the Regional Organization, Centers of Expertise and Service Providers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of HR services to the Sites.  This position is located in Houston (Energy Corridor), TX.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as strategic HR Business Partner to the following locations:
    • Battleground (125+ FTE), Houston area
    • Pasadena (85 FTE), Houston area
    • Almeda Road (100+ FTE) , Houston area
    • Fort Worth (50 FTE), TX
    • Nouryon Corporate Office (approx. 100 FTE), Houston area- Energy Corridor
  • Overseeing the management of labor relations for the business unit, managing grievance procedures and advising teams to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreements
  • Participation in a collective bargaining process and the interpretation and application of contracts and agreements
  • Coaching and collaborate with manufacturing and union leadership to resolve business challenges
  • Facilitating conflict resolution and difficult discussions through our grievance process
  • Advise managers regarding compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws
  • Coaches and partners with employees, leadership and management teams on a day to day basis to embed a high-performance culture, focusing on leadership and driving accountability
  • Manages activities in areas of responsibility including performance and talent management, succession planning, staffing including hiring, on-boarding and terminations
  • Provide guidance and/or develop input on operational workforce planning and organization capability
  • Deliver HR policies, processes and practices focusing on continuous improvement and improved execution
  • Participates on and with Regional/Country HR initiatives/projects outside of the BU
  • Actively participate as an HR Partner within the Regional HR organization to drive functional excellence utilizing the resources provided to ensure consistent practices and making recommendations that will help meet goals
  • Responsible for the data integrity and accuracy of headcount and maintenance in the current HRIS systems
  • Drive Code of conduct compliance and facilitate relevant employee relations trainings
  • Lead and manage defined projects for the site such as but not limited to:
    • Engagement
    • Implementing Cultural and Organizational change
    • Specialty Chemicals Values and Behaviors
    • Talent Management Process for the site. Responsible for identifying, managing and promoting career development and building strong succession plans that align with the business strategy

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum five (5) years generalist experience preferably to include experience as a specialist in several of the HR disciplines
  • Minimum five (5) years union and labor relations experience
  • Chemical plant/hazardous site experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including engagement, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, organizational design, workforce planning, career development and training, performance management and employee engagement
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors HRIS and ADP payroll preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical skills and project management
  • Able to work in a matrix environment, building effective relationships with management and functions in a multi-cultural environment
