The Nouryon Polymer Specialties business is the world's leading producer of organic peroxides, metal alkyls, and organometallic specialties. These are essential ingredients for the polymer industry. In your future role as Researcher, you will

In this segment of crosslinking or reactive modification of rubbers, elastomers and thermoplastics your will make use of organic peroxides and other chemicals. You will be the expert in this field creating new developments for Nouryon and providing technical solutions to your customers.

You will:

• Deliver new ideas for R&D projects, that are in line with our strategy or trends and developments in the market. You will do your own experiments to validate and develop these ideas, and in the end develop these into commercial products or solutions. You will be part of a team to make the project a success, or possibly even driving the project by managing it as your own R&D project but being responsible for your own experimental work is always of key importance.
• Perform technical support to both external and internal customers. Here you will use your expertise to answer technical related questions or conduct small experiments to provide an answer to the customer.

We believe you bring

You bring a hands-on mentality to the lab and you are able to exchange ideas and pursue new challenges together with colleagues. Furthermore, you have/are:

• 1-3y experience in Research & Development of Rubber/Polymers
• Have a BSc or MSc in Chemistry / Material Science or Polymer Science (i.e. polymer material science, polymer/ R&D in Rubber.
• Hands-on mentality in the lab. 
• Creative and a high interest in innovation
• Flexible and team player.
• Good communication, reporting and presentation skills.
• Good language skills, written and spoken English.

Great if you

• Have a good background in chemistry in relation to rubber and/or polymer application.

We believe you have... 

• Experience working in project management is a plus.
• Strong passion of doing experiments by yourself and explore something new in applications for rubbers, elastomers and polymers.
