About the Job:

 

  • Execute Quality Control plan and use basic statistical tools to support PQC team, Production, Shipping, and Nouryon Global Technology in data-based decision making and quality system reviews.
  • Establishes and prioritizes scheduled PQC Team activities such as required testing, equipment calibrations, making of testing standards, and other Quality control tasks to ensure work is performed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Manage out-of-spec validation procedure and escalate problems to Production or other stakeholders.
  • Manage laboratory equipment and supplies including equipment preventive maintenance activities provided by both internal and external resources.
  • Develop and manage training for all involved personnel.

 

 

 

 

In your future role as QC Lab Tech, you will:

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Follow Site Augusta HSE&S policies, rules, procedures and actively participate in programs (e.g. BBS, process safety fundamentals, 5S).
  • Stop all unsafe work violating HSE-policy and HSE rules.
  • Complete assigned trainings.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement efforts in Augusta.
  • Support and participate in tasks including quality audits conducted by customers and Nouryon resources, site visits by customers and Nouryon resources, and other PQC Team activities.


Lab Tech Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute Quality Control Plan.
  • Perform a variety of chemical and instrumental analyses including raw material, in-process, and final product samples, environmental effluent sampling, and other specialized testing associated with the laboratory operation.
  • Facilitate testing personnel’s adherence to SOPs and general lab rules.
  • Maintain and improve lab’s processes and methods including the annual Round Robin testing, reviewing/updating Augusta PQC procedures.
  • Maintain and improve equipment (including internal/external corrective and preventive maintenance, calibration, replacement).
  • Support process capability studies and plant trials using Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies and respond to deviating results.
  • Support PQC Team in driving performance through KPIs and metrics.
  • Ensure data, knowledge and information are documented and archived.
  • Oversee and manage retain sample storage.
  • Eliminate and prevent out-of-spec problems.
  • Monitor Right first-time data in SAAG Quality module.
  • Initiate, participate in, or lead ad-hoc RCPS sessions and participate in weekly RCPS sessions.
  • Follow the out-of-spec validation procedure and escalating problems to production/other stakeholders.
  • Manage supplies (including spare parts, reagents, standard, other lab supplies).
  • Develop and manage training for all involved personnel.

 

Key Activities:

 

  • Follow Site Augusta HSE&S policies, rules, procedures.
  • Execute Quality Control plan and use basic statistical tools to meet site objectives for Right First Time Quality.
  • Maintain and improve lab’s processes and methods.

 

 

 

 

We believe you bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field preferred. High School Diploma required. Relevant experience could serve as a substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of analytical experience related to laboratory instrumentation preferred.
  • Experience in other laboratory assignments or applications is a plus.
  • Creative problem-solving skills using statistical analysis tools.
  • Ability to maintain cost-effective approaches and manage multiple tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications such as excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Office products, and SAP system for preparing statistical reports.
  • Must be physically capable of accessing all areas of the site.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Comfortable dealing with unforeseen events such as emergencies and unplanned plant shutdowns.

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Process & Quality Control Manager based out of our office in Augusta, GA.
