    Sponto® EC-334 and EC-336 are a matched pair of blended emulsifiers originally developed for use with phenoxy herbicides; more specifically the iso-octyl esters of 2,4D and MCPA. This pair works with a wide range of active concentrations, from four to six pounds per gallon, and with a wide array of solvents such as Aromatic 150 and Exxol D-110. The pair is calcium free, so there are no concerns about precipitation of insoluble salts formed when used with active ingredients made via direct esterification. Sponto® EC-334 is the more hydrophobic blend of the pair and the concentration used in the formulation is adjusted to improve performance when diluted into soft water (342ppm Calcium or lower). To adjust the emulsion performance in hard water, (above 342ppm Calcium) increase the concentration of Sponto® EC-336 and decrease the concentration of Sponto® EC-334.The combination of Sponto® EC-334 and EC-336 will also work with other classes of active ingredients that have similar polarities to the iso-octyl esters of 2,4D and MCPA. Sponto® EC-334 and EC-336 are also very good emulsifiers for methyl esters.
