Butanox® L-50 VR is a general purpose methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for room and elevated temperature cure of unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of a metal (Cobalt) accelerator. Butanox® L-50 VR has a low hydrogen peroxide content which reduces gelcoat porosity and provides improved curing of vinyl ester resins. Butanox® L-50 VR offers all the advantages of a standard MEKP like Butanox® L-50 with the advantage of a vanishing red indicator system that virtually disappears during cure. The red color is there when you need it in the mixing and application steps but will disappear during cure.
