Our Levasil® BF products are used in combination with gelatin, or other vegan alternatives based on pea or soy, for clarification of wine, must and fruit juices. Levasil® colloidal silica gives a faster flocculation reaction and lower volume of more dense sediments compared to e.g. bentonite. All products recommended for wine and must applications meet the International Oenological Codex.
In beer production our Levasil® BF product is added on its own to improve flocculation. This can be done both for clarifying the wort, where it flocculates cationic species such as proteins, and to enhance flocculation of the yeast after fermentation. The formed flocs sediment fast and form a compact sediment resulting in increased productivity.

Ferric sodium EDTA, Ferrazone®, is a form of iron that is readily absorbed by the body, making it a safe and effective way to prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia through the fortification of food products. It is primarily used to fortify foods that are stored in dry form. Powdered drinks and ready-to-serve lemonades such as cola and beer; and functional foods like sports drinks are good targets for iron fortification with our Ferrazone® products.
Trace metals ions cause several spoilage reactions in food and beverages and degrade both quality and shelf life. Solvitar™, our high-purity food-grade chelate, forms a stable complex with the trace metal ions and prevents against undesirable food spoilage reactions without influencing taste or quality. In soft drinks, the addition of Solvitar™ products can support vitamin C stabilization and minimize color fading and flavor loss. In beer, Solvitar™ products reduces gushing and promotes clarity.
The innovative Cekol® sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a bio-based and biodegradable hydrocolloid, making it a preferred sustainable choice. The grades and functionality of the CMC can be tailored for specific uses such as for battery, pharmaceutical, food, and personal care applications. Cekol® CMC is a water-soluble polymer derived from wood or cotton cellulose and produced to a minimum of 99.5% purity. The product hydrates and dissolves readily in hot and cold water and, as it is manufactured from wood cellulose, it fulfills GMO-free requirements. By choosing the right type of Cekol® CMC, formulators can achieve the desired rheology for any aqueous system, including suspensions and emulsions. Levasil colloidal silica
Levasil® BF36 AM is an alkaline, aqueous dispersion of colloidal silica that is approximately 25% solids by weight. The silica dispersion is sodium stabilized and the amorphous silica particles carry a negative surface charge. The silica particles are discrete, have a spherical shape, and are present in a narrow particle size distribution. The particles have also been surface modified with aluminum.
