Polymer production

Trigonox® 131 is used as an initiator for the polymerization or copolymerization of styrene in the temperature range of 100°C to 130°C. In the bulk polymerization process, the advantage of Trigonox® 131 as an initiator is that it can increase the polymerization speed. In the suspension polymerization process: Trigonox® 131 can effectively reduce the residual styrene content in the final product.

Polymer crosslinking

Trigonox® 131 can be used to crosslink elastomers at intermediate temperatures, a typical crosslink temperature is 150°C. Trigonox® 131 is recommended for highly demanding applications e.g. as crosslinker for the polyolefin elastomer copolymer (POE) film in photovoltaic devices.
