About the job

The QC Supervisor is responsible for directing product testing and ensuring product meets specifications prior to shipping to our customers.  Duties will include supervision of Quality Control Lab staff and the duties encompassed of site Quality Control functions.  This position will serve as ISO9001 Management representative and lead internal auditor.   

In your future role as QC Supervisor you will:

• Supervise the in-process testing and final analyses of all production batches; ensuring product meets specifications.
• Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated to required standards.
• Develop the skills and talents of the QC staff to the fulfillment of each member and the benefit of the company.
• Assist investigation for process/product improvements, customer complaints or special project with data analyses, testing or lab experiments.
• Perform duties as ISO9001 Management Representative in accordance with site Quality manual and ISO9001 standard.
• Lead QC’s safety initiative in keeping with the stated company safety directives.  Promote and facilitate as necessary site safe behavior modifications ensuring continued safe work conditions for all employees.
• Maintain QC budget within established constraints. 

We believe you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field preferred, relevant experience could suffice  
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in laboratory environment
• Experience with ISO9001 quality management activities, including auditing
• Training in:
  • SAP
  • Microsoft Office
  • SPC
  • Six Sigma Tools
  • LEAN Management

Great if you have  

• Experience in polymer chemistry
• Experience in Six Sigma & SPC
• Experience with behavior-based safety processes

Good to know
 

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, reporting to the Site Director in Chattanooga, TN. This role has supervisory responsibilities over laboratory personnel.
