About the job:

 

Paints & Coatings is a $400mln specialty additives business, focused primarily on Decorative Paints, Construction Chemicals, and Asphalt emulsification.  Our unique functional capabilities deliver differentiated benefits in high-growth and sustainability-focused applications.  In Paints and Construction markets, we mostly offer cellulose ethers and acrylic polymers as rheology modifiers and surfactants as wetting agents.  Further, we offer unique chemistries, including microspheres and colloidal silica, which add significant functionality, such as lightweight or thermal reflectivity, to the application.  In Asphalt, we optimize the dosage of emulsifiers used for paving systems. 

 

The business’ channel to market includes direct consumer product customers and distribution channels. 

 

The Regional Sales Manager Americas is a global P&C Management Team member.  This individual will execute the business strategy, and marketing plan, and commercialize new product innovation for the $50mln American P&C business.  Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, this position will identify and develop new customers/markets and drive actions that position the business for short-term and long-term success.

 

 

In your future role as a Regional Sales Manager, you will:

 

  • Lead a team of 7 individuals, developing the next generation of American leadership
  • Active and thoughtful engagement in the P&C Management Team
  • Grow the business profitably
  • Implement value pricing to ensure the full value of Nouryon’s offering is received
  • Sets prices, owns contracts, and manages customer decisions for the regional organization
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, distributors, and other stakeholders to grow their share of the wallet
  • Establish and build senior-level relationships with key decision-makers and buyers at direct customers
  • Grow the selling project opportunity pipeline, using application science as a key offering
  • Ensure disciplined management and performance of distribution channels
  • Demonstrate progress in improving discipline around Demand planning
  • Utilize marketing plans and value propositions to improve the position of technology in chosen markets
  • Communicate compelling customer and competitor insights back to the Marketing and R&D

 

 

We believe you bring:

 

  •  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Engineering-related discipline
  • Candidates with an MBA are desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, technical service, R&D, or product management roles, with preference for experience in the decorative paints or construction chemicals industry
  • Candidates who have experience working for a decorative paint manufacturer or a construction chemical company are also encouraged to apply
  • Fluency in English; other relevant languages a plus
  • Comfortable working across global cultures
  • Results-oriented
  • Communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated track record of effective leadership in past roles
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Customer negotiations
  • Business software, such as SAP, CRM, Salesforce.com, Arkieva, Anaplan
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
