In your future role as an HR Director, US/CA, you will
The HR Director will be responsible for shaping and executing the people strategy across the United States manufacturing sites. You will drive and execute HR strategic projects in line with our people agenda. In this role you will have personnel responsibility for all Site HRBPs across the U.S. The position is the Business Partner for the VP of Operations, U.S.
- Develop and execute the U.S. people strategy aligned with global HR priorities and regional business objectives
- Partner with regional executives to drive organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategies
- Own labor relations strategy across all U.S. sites, including direct oversight of collective bargaining agreements, union contract negotiations, and grievance processes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory requirements across multiple U.S. jurisdictions
- Serve as the senior employer-facing leader on all union matters, including contract negotiations, labor strategy, and union relationship management
- Provide leadership for HR activities across the region, including HR teams and professionals who do not report directly into this role, ensuring the organization operates and presents itself as one unified HR function
- Lead cultural transformation initiatives, including leadership development, engagement, and change management
- Oversee HR operations, employee relations, and policy governance across the region
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex HR and labor relations matters
- Partner with Integrated Supply Chain leadership and senior site leaders to drive capability building, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness
- Support transformation initiatives such as digitalization, automation, footprint optimization, and operational excellence programs
- Ensure HRBPs deliver proactive, data-driven insights to improve performance, productivity, and employee experience
- Build a consistent HRBP operating model across U.S. sites
We believe you bring
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including regional or multi-site responsibility
- Experience working in plant environment
- Significant, hands-on union and labor relations experience required — proven track record leading collective bargaining negotiations, administering union contracts, and managing grievance processes across multiple U.S. sites
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment law
- Demonstrated success leading HRBP teams and influencing senior executives
- Deep knowledge of U.S. labor law and union/collective bargaining environments
- Experience driving organizational change and transformation
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to navigate complexity, ambiguity, and a fast-paced global environment
- Experience operating as a business partner for a dynamic, growing organization
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, analytical, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment, building effective relationships with management and functions across a multi-site U.S. organization
- Broad knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including labor relations, total rewards, workforce planning, performance management, employer branding, and employee engagement
- Experience with people data, analytics, and interpretation
- Strategic thinker and consistent implementer
