Surfactants for viscose - Berol® Visco and Berol® Spin 

Surfactants are necessary auxiliaries in the viscose process. Use our solutions to dramatically enhance the quality of your viscose process and products. Utilizing our surfactants will positively affect the end properties of viscose fiber and film.

Our main additives and their primary functions:

Reactivity additive

  • Reduces wear and tear of filters and spinnerets
  • Improves fiber quality
  • Improves accessibility of NaOH and CS2 creating a more uniform reaction with less formation of gel particles

Process additive

  • Keeps the system clean, decreasing spinneret cleaning operations
  • Increases the uniform cross section of fibers with improved spinnability
  • Lessens fiber breakages

Modifier

  • Improves the tenacity of the fiber
  • Decreases deposits
  • Retards the regeneration of cellulose

Spin bath additive

  • Extended spinneret life
  • Reduces cleaning operations
  • Improves fiber quality

Expancel® Microspheres for technical textiles and nonwovens

Expancel® Microspheres have a spherical shape and are fantastically low in density. This means you get a filler for technical textiles and nonwoven composites that are both lightweight and has great expansion capacity. Letting you add volume but not weight.

Even with relatively small dosages of Expancel® microspheres added, the need for a binder or other heavier fillers is reduced. This allows you to save on costs of raw materials and at the same time – enhance the properties of the substrates.

With its low density, the microspheres equip your final technical textile and nonwoven composite product with superior insulation. They will also increase bulk and thickness as well as dimensional stability.

Expancel® microspheres can be used in a wide variety of binder systems that are applied on the substrate, either by impregnation, coating, spraying, or lamination.

  • Finnfix® CMC cellulose ethers In textile applications, sizing pick-up can be adjusted by using different FINNFIX® grades to correct the rheology of a sizing solution.
  • Surfactants Surfactants are necessary auxiliaries in the viscose process and will positively affect the end properties of viscose fiber and film.
  • Expancel® microspheres With its low density, the microspheres equip your technical textile with superior insulation. They will also increase bulk, thickness and dimensional stability.
  • Dissolvine® chelates Improves the performance of dye baths and removes and deactivates metal ions that would otherwise catalyze the decomposition of the peroxide bleaching agent.
  • Levasil® colloidal silica Levasil® colloidal silica is used in treatment formulations by the textile industry to help stabilize weave structure and improve seam slippage.
  • Hydrogen peroxide Can be used for bleaching/decolorization of cotton and recycled textiles.
  • Sulfur products Sodium hydrosulfide is used as a highly reactive form of sulfur and acts as an intermediate in the production of other chemicals, especially for thiochemicals used in textile processing.

Wet cake of unexpanded thermoplastic microspheres used as a blowing agent in printing ink, nonwoven and toy clay. It expands at a temperature range of 91-143°C and the particle size is around 40 µm in its expanded form.

Finnfix

Finnfix® CMC brand is used in a range of industrial applications, such as paper surface treatment, mining, fabric care, textile and ceramics. Finnfix® products hydrate and dissolve in hot and cold water. By selecting the right Finnfix® grade, manufacturers can achieve the desired rheology. Finnfix® CMC is known for its excellent water retention, film forming capability and surface activity. These bio-based and biodegradable products are food contact approved and do not contain SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern).
