In addition to specialties, we are a leading producer of 99.99% pure Dimethyl Ether (DME), which is the ideal propellant for hair sprays due to its non- toxic, high solvency and water miscibility.

Amphomer® Polymer Series

Our Amphomer polymers are amphoteric acrylic hair fixatives that offer market-leading stiffness and unprecedented high humidity curl retention properties. These stiff resins provide unparalleled holding power for ultimate control in all temperature and humidity conditions. It can be applied in traditional aerosol and pump hair sprays, and styling aids such as mousses, gels, creams, pomades and glues for a long-lasting finishing hold.

Amphomer® This market-leading hair spray polymer offers superior stiffness, unprecedented high humidity curl retention, and thermal protection properties.
Amphomer® LV-71 This polymer is designed for lower VOC hair spray systems. The reduced solution viscosity improves spray properties with systems that contain low levels of water.
Amphomer® 4961 This polymer is designed for improved stiffness durability, and long-lasting hold compared to Amphomer in high alcohol systems. It also offers lower formulation viscosity in alcohol-free systems.
Amphomer® HC Designed for use in high hydrocarbon propellant systems. It is also compatible with dimethyl ether propellant systems and can be used to produce crystal clear hair spray solutions.

Resyn® Polymer Series

Our Resyn polymers are film-forming hair fixatives that offer cost-effective stiffness with flexibility in high alcohol hair spray formulas. They provide strong holding power, manageability, gloss, and adhesion to the hair without flaking.

Resyn® 28-2930 LVOC Designed for high water (55% VOC) systems for optimum clarity and compatibility while providing the same performance profile as Resyn 28-2930.
Resyn® XP Designed for high water (55% VOC) systems for optimum clarity and compatibility while providing the same performance profile as Resyn 28-2930.

Balance® Polymer Series

Our Balance products deliver excellent hold and formulation latitude, resulting in high-quality formulations.

Balance® 47 This powder acrylic polymer provides a low solution viscosity in high water systems. Low VOC aerosol and pump hair sprays containing Balance 47 polymer spray finer with smaller particles for reduced drying times.
Balance® CR This acrylic emulsion polymer provides ease of use when formulating alcohol-free to 80%VOC hair sprays and styling aids. Films of this polymer are hard, offer excellent humidity resistance and provide a more natural, flexible feel on the hair.
Balance® RCFg This alkali swellable acrylic emulsion polymer that provides viscosity, excellent stiffness, and high humidity style retention for crystal clear hair gels.

DynamX® Polymer Series

Our DynamX polymers are unique polyurethane and acrylate copolymer film formers designed for hairsprays that deliver flexibility with long-lasting hold properties. They are supplied as pre-neutralized solutions that can be easily formulated into hairsprays and other styling aids. DynamX polymers provide a strong, flexible hold with style memory (durable hold) that is required for dynamic hairstyles.

DynamX® This pre-neutralized hydro-alcoholic solution provides ease of use when formulating both aerosols and non-aerosol hairsprays as well as styling aids. This polymer offers long lasting hold, flexible feel, curl memory, curl definition, shine, anti-frizz, and thermal protection properties with outstanding durability for dynamichair styles.
DynamX® H2O This polymer was designed for alcohol-free styling systems. Its supplied as a pre-neutralized aqueous solution and provides the same performance properties as DynamX.

Biostyle® Polymer Series

Users can create crystal clear gels in a more natural way with a unique innovation that combines the best of synthetic performance with sustainable technology in one polymer. Our Biostyle polymers are hybrid fixatives that are environmentally responsible choices for today’s natural styling formulating needs.

Biostyle® CGP This styling polymer has a high natural content and performs as a match to PVP K-30 and PVP/VA systems. In addition to providing a similar hold, this polymer also delivers exceptional volume generation and root lift while providing a workable hold.
Biostyle® XH This partially natural styling polymer can provide high hold levels equal to traditional PVP K-90 fixatives. Similar to Biostyle CGP, this polymer provides volume generation, root lift, and a firmer hold.

Amaze® Biopolymer Series

Our Amaze® biopolymer series consists of naturally derived products with exceptional hair styling properties for today’s eco-conscious consumers. These products can be used in a wide range of styling applications, including non-aerosol hairsprays, mousses, creams, lotions, waxes and pomades.

Amaze® This readily biodegradable, starch-based polymer delivers touchable hold, great volumization, and restyleability.
Amaze® SP This 100% natural polymer provides humidity resistant style retention, outstanding volume, thermal protection, and anti-frizz performance. Its exceptional sensory performance and look makes this the ideal choice for natural and nude styling products that deliver touchable hold.
Amaze® XT This naturally derived, multi-functional styling polymer provides long-lasting hold under highly humid conditions, without the tack and flake often associated with gels. It offers not only the outstanding fixative properties, but also serves as an efficient thickener, simplifying the formulation and manufacturing process.

Flexan® II Polymer

Our Flexan II  is a versatile polymer that forms clear, flexible films which contract upon drying, lending itself to curl enhancement applications. Flexan II quickly dissipates electric charge to minimize reduce static and keep frizz under control, builds good volume in hair, and helps to reduce surface tension while adding low viscosity to the final formulation.

Flexan® ll Flexan® II water soluble polymer films are strong yet flexible, making it a multi-functional ingredient for various styling aids. The films are heat stable well above 300°C and therefore protect the hair from heat damage caused by using hair dryers, curling irons, or flat irons during the styling process.

Celquat® Polymer Series

Our Celquat Polyquaternium-4 products are excellent film formers that differ from the Polyquaternium-10 polymers in their comb-like distribution of the quaternized nitrogen charge versus an even charge distribution. They are well suited for hair styling applications that require conditioning properties with humidity-resistant hold. Due to their compatibilities with typical ingredients, these Celquat products can be easily formulated into non-aerosol products, such as gels, creams, or styling lotions as well as aerosol mousse systems.

Celquat® H-100 This polymer is a high viscosity Polyquaternium-4 variant. It has a higher relative molecular weight which delivers a higher stiffness and viscosity in comparison to L-200. It also has a moderate degree of cationic substitution which provides light conditioning in application while still offering good compatibility with anionic ingredients. It is recommended for use in moderate to high viscosity systems that require some conditioning benefits with little build-up.
Celquat® L-200 This polymer is a low viscosity Polyquaternium-4 variant. Due to its lower molecular weight, it offers less viscosity build and stiffness when compared to H-100. It possesses a higher cationic substitution which means it is typically recommended in applications that require more conditioning, such as mousses.

Structure® 2001/3001 polymer series

Film forming polymers and rheology control agents define the final form and function of styling products, making the choice of rheology modifier a critical formulation decision. The best styling products address the consumer-desired viscosity as well as flow and spreading properties.

Structure® 2001 Multifunctional associative thickener ideal for high viscosity systems with exceptional shear-thinning properties that can also provide moderate hold properties. Very stable in presence of solvents and counter irons.
Structure® 3001 Multifunctional associative thickener with lower viscosity and lighter hold properties compared to Structure 2001. Outstanding tolerance to salt, solvents and counter irons. Provides gel-like texture, yet very workable.

Eco-friendly propellants (DME) for aerosol products

We are a leading producer of DME in Europe with our production site in The Netherlands. We have been active in the DME business since 1964 (propellant for aerosol products), and as a producer of DME since 1990. Nouryon produces 99.99% pure DME suitable for technical, aerosol & pharmaceutical applications.

Dimethyl Ether (DME) DME is an ideal propellant for hairsprays due to its nontoxic, high solvency and water miscibility and zero global warming potential. Our product line includes: Demeon ® D and Demeon® Green DME.
