Solar encapsulants protect photovoltaic cells, enabling the electricity generation. These polymeric sheets are laminated to silicon wafers and crosslinked with organic peroxides, ensuring at least 25 years of functionality by enhancing polymer properties.

In the fast-growing solar industry, EVA and POEs are widely used. Nouryon offers organic peroxides as initiators for EVA copolymer production. Next to that, Nouryon offers also modified aluminoxanes and metallocenes as catalyst components for POE production. EVA sheets are the fastest-growing segment in PV solar modules, produced through radical polymerization with careful temperature control. Nouryon’s Trigonox® 423 lowers polymerization temperatures, improves efficiency and film clarity, making it superior to traditional initiators.
