The Logistics Specialist II is responsible for completion of daily modal logistics activities including shipment planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting for assigned respective mode of transport in alignment with cost and service target.

About the job


As Logistics Specialist Rail & Road, you are responsible for transport planning activities including capacity planning, shipment planning, carrier selection, routing, scheduling, tendering, and load building.

 

In your future role as Logistics Specialist II, you will

 

  • Perform all transportation planning (ADR temperature controlled), executing, and monitoring for the modal transportation mode according to defined processes.
  • Conduct transportation planning activities (ADR temperature controlled) including capacity planning, shipment and fleet planning, carrier selection, routing, scheduling, tendering, and load building.
  • Conduct transportation booking activities.
  • Coordinate with site logistics to execute shipments and gather necessary documentation.
  • Monitor shipments and resolve exceptions as they arise.
  • Track and monitor logistics provider, customer, and organization logistics KPIs and cost performance.
  • Support freight cost payment, management, and invoicing.
  • Maintain relationships with logistics providers and support the managers in conducting performance reviews
  • Identify frequency and cause of service failures and work with the managers to develop plans to identify solutions
  • Support acquisition of transport mode capacity including spot booking
  • Support process improvement efforts as directed by the manager
  • Lead and model Nouryon Values to include driving code of conduct compliance at all times
  • Dependent on the volume of shipments, the Logistics Specialist may be assigned tasks to support.

  • Passion for logistics, with a strong understanding of logistics operations and a customer-focused mindset, knowing what it takes to satisfy stakeholders and willing to go the extra mile to achieve this.
  • Understanding of logistics operations and the challenges encountered in a logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operational logistic processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quickly develop a solution.
  • Experienced working in an international environment.
  • Demonstrated operational knowledge of TMS.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Pro-active attitude towards colleagues and other stakeholders, with a solution-oriented approach and a focus on achieving results.
  • Able to handle stressful situations if it comes to logistics and prioritize your work.


Great if you have

 

  • Experience in ERP
  • Knowledge of the chemical/ manufacturing / process industry.
  • Strong analytical skills over multiple domains to identify opportunities and solutions.
  • Ability to remain neutral toward technology, vendor and product choices, as well as to be more interested in results than in personal preferences.
  • Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word). SAP knowledge is a pre.
  • Strong understanding of the modal transport market
  • Experience with carrier relationship management and performance evaluations.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Dutch is a pré
