As part of the Polymer Specialties business, you will conduct research in the field of organic peroxides and contribute to the development of innovative products and processes.

 

The Nouryon Polymer Specialties business is the world's leading producer of organic peroxides, metal alkyls, and organometallic specialties, which are essential ingredients for the polymer industry. About the role

As a Researcher in the Process and Product Research group, you will carry out exploratory research leading to new organic peroxide products and/or processes, innovating and enhancing technologies and methodologies. 

Creating more sustainable waste free processes and products based on renewable sources is a key characteristic of your job and a strong focus of the business unit Polymer Specialties.

 

In your future role as Researcher, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with team members to exchange ideas, knowledge, and expertise.
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams together with application teams, commercial teams, the analytical department, safety experts, and the technology group.
  • Organize, analyse, and document research findings.
  • Participate in R&D meetings and present technical insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports to communicate project outcomes and research results.
  • Lead projects and report to management on progress, discussing issues and solutions.
  • Support production facilities worldwide with technical expertise and problem-solving.
  • Continuously develop skills through training programs, including safe handling of organic peroxides, application-focused training, and project management courses.

 

We believe you bring

To be successful in this role, you have a genuine passion for chemistry and enjoy hands-on experimental work. You are curious, proactive, and eager to explore new ideas and challenges in collaboration with colleagues. In addition, you have:

 

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in organic chemistry or a related scientific field.
  • Demonstrated experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including product characterization and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Preferably 1-3 years of relevant industrial or research experience.
  • A hands-on, practical approach in the laboratory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • The ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

 

Great if you have

  • Project management experience.
  • BHV (Company Emergency Response) certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experienced with scale-up activities.

This is a full-time position based in Deventer, and you will report to the Research Manager, Polymer Specialties.
