About the job

As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and continuous improvement of electrical and instrumentation systems at Nouryon’s Pasadena, TX site. You’ll lead engineering projects from design through commissioning, partner with EPC contractors and cross-functional teams, and provide technical solutions in a complex industrial environment. 

In your future role as Electrical Engineer you will

• Own the reliability and safety of the site's power distribution system, including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and large motors.
• Perform and maintain power system studies (short circuit, load flow, protective device coordination, and arc flash per IEEE 1584) using SKM.
• Lead the site's electrical safety and maintenance programs in line with NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, and NETA standards, including hazardous area classification per NFPA 497 and API 505.
• Develop electrical engineering packages for capital projects and coordinate with EPC contractors through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures and provide day-to-day technical support to Operations and Maintenance.
• Drive electrical and instrumentation reliability through continuous improvement and targeted capital investment.

We believe you bring

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering 
• 5–10 years of power systems experience in large industrial facilities, preferably refinery, gas plant, or petrochemical.
• Hands-on experience with power system studies and SKM (or a similar tool such as ETAP).
• Working knowledge of NFPA 70, 70E, 70B, 496, and 497, plus IEEE 1584, API 505, and NETA.

Great if you have  

• Proficiency reading/writing Spanish is a plus.
• NIDA/SKM software familiarity a plus
