Nouryon has been awarded a 2022 Platinum rating by EcoVadis for its sustainability achievements. This rating places Nouryon in the top 1% of companies then assessed by the global sustainability ratings provider.

Nouryon today announced that it is now certified to the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification standard ISCC PLUS at its site in Herkenbosch, the Netherlands. Nouryon and US-based startup Forge Nano have agreed to explore a joint collaboration in ultra-thin coatings for high-growth applications including batteries and catalysts. The technology, called atomic layer deposition (ALD), also has the potential to open up entirely new applications.

Nouryon and Gasunie are studying an expansion of a planned green hydrogen unit at Delfzijl, the Netherlands. The feasibility study follows a deal to convert sustainable electricity into green hydrogen for SkyNRG. The plant could be scaled up from 20 megawatts to at least 60 megawatts – which allows for a conversion of 9,000 tons of green hydrogen a year.

Nouryon and INEOS Nitriles have broken ground on new facilities to be built at INEOS’ Köln site in Germany. The units will produce raw materials for Nouryon’s high-quality, readily biodegradable chelates, used in detergents and other industries. The plants are due to be completed in 2021-2022.
