Explore our portfolio of high-performance wetting and dispersing agents with the launch of our First Response Sample Kits. Each application focused kit contains a comprehensive selection of six wetting agents, dispersing agents, and/or stabilizers specifically tailored to provide functional value in architectural paint, emulsion polymerization, and colorant applications.

The First Response Kits provide customers with convenient off-the-shelf access to innovative products that have been meticulously selected because of their proven performance in demanding situations and/or their alignment with sustainability or regulatory directives (e.g. VOC reduction, APE-free labeling, etc).

Architectural Paints - Wetting Agents Architectural Paints - Dispersing Agents Emulsion Polymerization (Stabilizers) Colorants (Wetting and Dispersing Agents)

We offer wetting agents for architectural paints having a variety of characteristics under our Ethylan® and Berol® brand names.

Benefits include:

  • Enhanced color acceptance improving more efficient use of pigments
  • Improved compatibilization to ease mixing, improve paint stability
  • Improved leveling of paint for better hiding
  • Increased durability and scrub resistance

Our dispersing agents are synthetic (acrylic) polymers sold under Alcosperse® and Narlex® brand names. These products help formulators create innovative waterborne paints and coatings with excellent performance characteristics.

  • Excellent pigment dispersion, for both organic and inorganic pigments
  • Improved weatherability and water mark resistance for both interior and exterior paints
  • Excellent color acceptance
  • Strong scrub resistance
  • Can be universally applied in low and high gloss formulation

Our stabilizers consist of alkoxylates (standard and narrow range), phosphate esters, sulfosuccinates, sulfate, and sulfonates sold under Berol®, Lankropol®, Petro®, and Sulframin™ brand names. These products enhance the production and quality of latex resins made via emulsion polymerization.

Benefits include:

  • A reduction of fouling in the reactor improving throughput and quality
  • Improved control over emulsion particle size and uniformity
  • Eases the formation of micelles allowing controlled polymerization reactions to occur
  • Maintains the stability of the finished emulsion
