We have formed partnerships with several startups and other companies to pursue innovative solutions, including Renewcell on sustainable textile recycling; Itaconix for bio-based polymers; Avantium for chemicals from wood; as well as co-hosting an event with Icos Capital Innovation Summit that brings startups, corporations, and industry experts in climate tech together.

Memberships and Partnerships

We are a member and signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. An international program, it brings companies, UN agencies, and labor and civil society organizations together to support universal principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anticorruption.

We are also a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Responsible Care^®, and partner with Swedish regional corporate cooperation Hållbar Kemi (Sustainable Chemistry). Furthermore, we are a strategic investor in the Icos Capital Fund III, a fund that supports start-ups, including those focused on software and process technologies for manufacturing in agriculture, food, and chemical industries.

Growing with our customers

Since the start of 2017, we have announced numerous investments or plant startups that support the growth of our customers.

Examples includes the expansion and upgrade of a surface chemistry plant in Sweden, acquisition of a leading Chinese metal alkyls producer, and increased production capacity for organic peroxides, expandable microspheres and colloidal silica.
