Bleaching/decolorization of textile fibers

The purpose of bleaching or decolorization of fibers to be used in textiles, is to remove the natural color or dyes and to chemically modify the fibers for further processing i.e., spinning, dyeing and printing. Eka® HP and Eka® ClO2 are strong oxidants that can be used both in bleaching of virgin cellulosic fibers or decolorization of recycled textiles.

Examples of applications
• Virgin natural textile fibers (cotton, flax, wool, silk)
• Dissolving pulp to be used for production of i.e., viscose and lyocell
• Recycled textile fibers

Eka® HP is a “pure chemical” that is suitable to use in environmental applications, as is or in advanced oxidation processes (AOP).

Examples of applications
• Nouryon's MicrOx™ hydrogen peroxide in combination with the Advanox™ ultraviolet reactors from Van Remmen UV Technology 
• Removal of organic material (COD and BOD) in effluents
• Degradation of dyes
