Recently, Nouryon executives and employees, along with customer, suppliers, and contractors, inaugurated Nouryon’s new Integrated Manufacturing Model site in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The site significantly increases Nouryon’s total sodium chlorate capacity available for the market and supports the growing pulp and paper industry in the region.
“Since 2005, Nouryon’s successful Integrated Manufacturing Model in Brazil has expanded to six pulp mill installations, making us a market leader in sodium chlorate,” said Charlie Shaver Chairman and CEO at Nouryon. “We are pleased to build upon our long-term relationship with our strategic partners as we meet the growing demand for the sustainable production of products used in the packaging materials and tissue end markets.”
In January 2022, Nouryon announced this agreement and the decision to invest in Ribas, Brazil, making it the first site to supply both hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorate and chlorine dioxide. Nouryon’s strong partnerships with customers enhances its commitment to the local region, promoting increased commerce, employment, and the production of sustainable products for South America and beyond.
“I was thrilled to participate in the official ribbon cutting of the Ribas site," said Ann Lindgärde, Senior Vice President Renewable Fibers at Nouryon. "With a full-scale Integrated Manufacturing Model in place, our customers benefit from our total chemical management service where we provide pulp bleaching services and expertise through tailor-made onsite production and delivery of essential raw materials needed in pulp production. I look forward to seeing this site become integral to our growth in the pulp and paper industry."
