Nouryon’s #Changemakers Drive Community and Performance in Gothenburg, Sweden
May 2025
In the vibrant city of Gothenburg, Sweden, Nouryon’s dedication to community engagement took center stage at the world’s largest 21 kilometers half marathon, the Göteborgsvarvet and the 4.3 kilometers “Cityvarvet”. Celebrating the half marathon’s 45th anniversary with a lively 80s theme, this iconic event drew 55,000 runners from across the globe. Among them were 80 Nouryon #Changemakers—a diverse group of employees, executives, and customers united by a shared passion for driving performance and fostering collaboration.
The 21-kilometer race was more than a physical challenge; it embodied Nouryon's core values of aiming high, doing it right, and fostering proactive collaboration. The company’s participation highlighted its dedication to engaging with communities and building connections that drive meaningful progress. Through its Nouryon Cares initiative, the company prioritizes health, safety, and community outreach, aligning with key Sustainable Development Goals to promote wellbeing for all.
As the #Changemakers traversed through the vibrant cityscape, they were cheered on by enthusiastic spectators. Every participant who embraced the challenge received a memorable medal, symbolizing both personal achievement and the collective spirit of Nouryon.
Göteborgsvarvet was a vivid demonstration of how Nouryon’s values come to life through action. It was a day to celebrate the passion and performance that fuel growth with customers and colleagues alike. As Nouryon continues to expand and cultivate its work culture, new opportunities to lead and make a difference emerge every day. On that sunny Saturday in Gothenburg, the spirit of Nouryon’s changemakers was palpable, and the chemistry of collaboration and community was truly in the air.
