Nouryon earns eleven awards for excellence in safety, community engagement, environmental stewardship, and industry leadership in Texas

Nouryon achieved significant recognition with eleven prestigious awards from the Texas Chemical Council and the Texas Chemistry Alliance.

These accolades highlight Nouryon’s exceptional achievements in safety performance, community engagement, environmental stewardship, and industry leadership in 2024.


“Our Texas sites have exemplified excellence in safety and community initiatives, showcasing their dedication to continuous improvement,” said Paresh Bhakta, Senior Vice President and Chief Integrated Supply Chain Officer. “These awards highlight our relentless commitment to advancing safety protocols, building strong community partnerships and fostering sustainable practices.”

Nouryon award recognitions include:

  • Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Houston)
    The award, established in 1998, celebrates member facilities for their ongoing improvements in community involvement, emergency response, and sustainability. Recipients are selected by a panel of industry leaders and community representatives based on documented metrics from 2024.

  • Excellence in Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon site: La Porte)
    This accolade recognizes facilities demonstrating outstanding performance within the Caring for Texas program.

  • Sustained Excellence in Caring for Texas Award (Nouryon site: Pasadena)
    This honor acknowledges facilities that have received the Excellence in Caring for Texas award for the last three consecutive years, illustrating a continuous commitment to community and environmental stewardship.

  • Zero Incident Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Pasadena)
    This award is given to facilities with zero Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable injuries or illnesses for both employees and contractors in 2024.

  • Occupational Safety Distinguished Service Award (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, Pasadena)
    This award is presented to facilities attending at least three quarterly Occupational Safety Committee or Subcommittee meetings during the year and successfully reducing their injury and illness incident rate in 2024 compared to the previous three years.

  • Sam Mannan Award for Zero Process Safety Incidents (Nouryon sites: Fort Worth, La Porte)
    Named after Dr. Sam Mannan, this award recognizes facilities achieving zero Tier 1 or Tier 2 process safety incidents in 2024, highlighting excellence in process safety management.

  • Texas A&M Mary Kay O'Connor Process Safety Center Award for Distinguished Process Safety Initiative (Nouryon site: Forth Worth)
    Presented by the Texas A&M Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Center, this award honors one facility per grouping category achieving zero incidents in 2024 and demonstrating exemplary process safety initiatives. Winners are selected based on submitted essays.
