Alcoguard® 5800 is an associative acrylic rheology modifierdesigned to function in dispersions or detergents with high levels ofsurfactants or electrolytes that adversely affect other thickeners. Whenneutralized to a pH above 7.0, Alcoguard® 5800 exhibits highlyefficient thickening and stabilization performance in a variety ofaqueous systems. In some detergents the thickening effect may beachieved at pH significantly below 7 with the proper formulationtechnique. Incorporate Alcoguard® 5800 with mixing as last ingredient prior toneutralization. Thickener may be diluted with water to facilitateincorporation in highly viscous formulations. Alcoguard® 5800 is a hydrophobically modified akali swellable emulsion. Alcoguard® 5800 improves flow and rheology of formulated coatings, is easy to handle and supplied as a low viscosity emulsion. It shows synergistic thickening with anionic and nonionic surfactants. Thickens formulations above pH 7. Recommended use levels of 0.2-1.0%.
