Berol® Visco® 44 is an aliphatic polyoxy ethylene glycol derivative used to reduce the disturbances caused by resin deposits on casting lips in the production of cellulosic film. The formation of such deposits leads to a deterioration of the film quality and time-consuming cleaning operations.
Berol® Visco® 44 has an excellent dispersing effect on resinous particles in viscose and a good solubility in viscose and spin baths of moderate salt concentration. Berol® Visco® 44 does not alter the color or deteriorate the transparency of the film. It is also compatible with cationic, nonionic and anionic viscose and spin bath additives.
Berol® Visco® 44 can be added to the pulp already in the pulp mill, to the alkali cellulose, or to the viscose. The best utilization of Berol® Visco® 44 is usually achieved when added prior to the xanthation which provides more uniform xanthation and a better filterability of the viscose.
