Functional Application Specialist – MES/MOM Systems

In your future role as Functional Application Specialist you will

• Ensure reliable operation and continuous improvement of MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management) applications.
• Handle incidents by registering, analyzing, and resolving application-related tickets.
• Monitor the health and performance of production systems, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Act as the first escalation point for vendors and user communities regarding application maintenance.
• Support projects and execute application changes: define the problem, analyze, implement solutions, perform testing, and maintain user documentation.
• Collaborate with key users and site personnel to support operational excellence and improve user experience.
• Maintain up-to-date technical, process, and end-user documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support (24x7 availability schedule).
• Contribute to change advisory boards (CAB), optimization projects, and automation initiatives.
• Support training programs and help build/maintain training materials for end users.
• Participate in handovers from project to operations and ensure a smooth transition.

We believe you bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in IT/OT environments, with at least 3–5 years focused on operations technology and MES/MOM systems.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing or chemical industry processes.
• Hands-on experience with GE Plant Applications, GE Historian, GE iFIX, KepwareEX, and SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with ITIL, ISA-95, and Microsoft environments (SQL Server, Windows OS).
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages: .NET, VB, ASP, PowerShell, and experience with Azure/Power BI is a plus.
• Understanding of service management principles, application lifecycle, and production system integrity.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across business and IT functions.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
