Operations Manager
Fort Amanda Specialties is a chemical company located inside the Lima, Ohio refinery complex and is a joint venture between two large chemical companies — Nouryon and BASF. Fort Amanda Specialties is a major producer of chelating agents that are used in a broad range of applications.
In your future role as Operations Manager you will
- Responsible for the supervision of operations personnel to meet production requirements and to support business objectives
- Responsible for safety of personnel and processes
- Responsible for approving standard operating procedures
- Accountable for training, inspection, and regulatory compliance
- Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of production assets
- Initiate and contribute to safety awareness and safety improvement activities/programs
- Accountable for Operations Cost Center budget, production plan, product quality and yield attainment
- Responsible for developing improvement strategies and prioritizing improvement efforts, including identifying prioritizing capital improvement requirements of the plant to meet HSE, Quality, Capacity and business imperatives
- Responsible for training and development of Team Leaders, Engineers, Lab Manager and Production Superintendent
- Active participant in injury and incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Accountable for proper execution of MOC’s.
- Responsible to act as interface between parent organization and FAS including active participant in Management Committee meetings
We believe you bring
- B.S degree in technical field required, preferably in chemistry or engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience in chemical manufacturing or related field. Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic engineering principles, root cause analysis and process troubleshooting, statistics, computer skills, DCS process control, OEE.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Process Safety Management requirements.
- Knowledge of the operational budgeting processes.
- Experience managing resources to meet business goals while complying with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and lead a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage employee performance.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills for interacting with all levels of personnel ( Sr. Management/Operation Technicians).
- Mobility is required.
