In your future role as Planning Manager, you will


The Planning Manager takes ownership in the creation and operation of the Business Planning process within Cleaning Goods.  The business planning process will be comprised of the 5 year strategy, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) which consists of planning in the 4-24 month horizon, and the short range Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) which consists of the execution of the plan within in the 0-13 week horizon.  The role will work with finance to monetize the plans in order to create effectively aligned Budgets, Latest views (LV), and 3 month rolling forecast (3MF) to compare against our Strategy.
The business planning function will help to facilitate the 5-year business plan.  This role will work to ensure the accuracy and complete coordination of market demand forecasts and manufacturing capacities (including site operations, vendors, logistics, and toll manufacturers).  Aids the Vice President of Cleaning Goods in the implementation of annual strategies. 
The IBP program will integrate the existing work streams of Market Development, R&D Product Portfolio, Demand and Supply Planning, Asset Strategy, and financial planning to create a single view of the business performance against our financial aspirations.  The role will drive functional accountability to create alternative scenarios to consistently refine the plan to align to our financial aspirations.
The Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) is the tactical function of planning that works to ensure that plans are achieved through periodic checks of progress to the plan.  Deviations to the plan are signals to the team that corrections are required or a formal approval for deviation to the approved plan is received. 
Our Cleaning Goods Sub Business Line has commercial activity across many of Nouryon’s Product Lines – Chelates, Alkoxylates, Amine Surfactants, CMC, Emulsion Polymers, and more.  This role will have responsibility for managing the supply planning process for the Chelates Product Line.  Reporting into this role will be the supply planners and logistic specialists with dotted line for demand planning across Home & Personal Care.

The Business Planning Process will consist of ...


Implementation of Business Planning Program:

 

  • Integration and alignment of the Marketing, R&D, Sales, ISC, and Finance calendars, processes, and tools.
  • Alignment and integration with Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis for budgeting and financial processes.
  • Participating in shaping Supply and Demand Planning strategies, capabilities and processes to improve integration and performance.
  • Development, deployment, implementation, post-implementation and exploitation of harmonized processes (product/project, demand, supply, integrated reconciliation, and management reviews), systems and program, across all business and functions in alignment with strategy.
  • Business Planning drives the development and execution of an Integrated Plan making IBP the primary process used by the leadership team to align, integrate and synchronize the plans for the business
  • Incorporate strategic planning and budgeting cycle.  Integrate the financial plan (Budget), the financial forecast (RF/ LE), sales and marketing plans, and operations plans; linking strategic, operational and financial goals.


Running the Business Planning Program:

 

  • Drive the 5 Year Strategy annual program, IBP monthly program, and ITP weekly program
  • Ensure proper, efficient reporting and analysis on Business Planning performance towards stakeholders
  • Partner with the Business Line leaders and the ISC leaders to ensure aligned priorities and continuous improvement of processes
  • Drives cross functional process improvement to achieve excellence, via process assessment tools and continuous improvement plan
  • Holds the functional leaders accountable to deliver on KPIs
  • Improve the reliability of the Forecast
  • Increase Customer Satisfaction through CRIT/OTIF
  • Improve Cash Flow by focusing on OWC to optimize Inventory
  • Improve Revenue through increased Sales and Production Output
  • Improve EBITDA by increasing Productivity
  • Maintains the effectiveness of the future organization by coaching and developing the planning organization to create future leaders.
  • The position is based in Radnor, PA, but requires occasional travel. Approximately 10-15% of your working time will be for regional & global travel.

We believe you bring

 

  • BA or BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other relevant discipline 
  • Experienced implementing and operating S&OP and/or IBP 
  • Solid understanding of main functional end-2-end processes of Forecast to Plan
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Good understanding of the Commercial and/or Integrated Supply Chain functions
  • Proven track record in team leadership
  • Project management experience as project lead in small or medium sized projects.

Great if you have 

  • MS degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant discipline
  • Working knowledge of SAP, systems and processes
  • Highly skilled in L6S methodologies and tools, process development and change management experience, (L6S Black Belt qualification is preferred.)
