The Asphalt business within Nouryon is a specialty chemicals additives business, focused primarily on Asphalt emulsification and adhesion promotion.  Our unique functional capabilities deliver differentiated benefits in high growth and sustainability focused applications.

The Global Sales Manager Asphalt leads the global sales team consisting of account managers in North and South America, India and Europe.  This individual will execute on the business strategy, marketing plan, and commercialize new product innovation.  Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, this position will identify growth opportunities and grow our business in existing markets by developing new and existing customers and drive actions which positions the business for short term and long-term success.

 

In your future role as Global Sales Manager – Asphalt you will

 

  • Lead the global team of 11 individuals (8 direct and 3 indirect), developing next generation of leadership.
  • Grow the business profitably, in accordance with the Business Strategy
  • Rationalize offering to direct customers, authorizing distribution territories.
  • Optimize overall cost to service the market, ensuring high profitability at GDP growth rates.
  • Ensure disciplined management and performance of distribution channels.
  • Implement value pricing to ensure full value of Nouryon’s offering is received.
  • Sets price, owns contracts, and manages customer decisions for the market segment.
  • Set target prices and maintain pricing documents, in partnership with the Strategic Marketing Manager.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, distributors, and other stakeholders to grow share of wallet.
  • Grow the selling project opportunity pipeline, using application science as a key offering.
  • Demonstrate progress in improving discipline around Demand planning.
  • Utilize marketing plans and value propositions to improve position of technology into chosen markets.
  • Communicate compelling customer and competitor insights back to the Marketing and R&D organizations.

We believe you bring

 

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, technical service, R&D, or product management roles, with experience in the chemicals and/ or infrastructure market.
  • A strong experience as a Sales leader.
  • Experience working across global cultures.
  • A demonstrated track record of effective leadership in past roles.
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Engineering-related discipline.
  • Fluency in English; other relevant languages are a plus.

Great if you have

  • An MBA.
  • A high level of proficiency in SAP, CRM, Arkieva and Excel
