In your future role as a Category Manager - Chemicals, you will

 

  • Develop procurement strategies at a regional and/or global category level for a total annual spend of 50-100 million USD of direct materials.
  • Explore cost reduction opportunities and establish a total cost of ownership approach internally and with external suppliers.
  • Actively work to improve commercial terms with suppliers, identify ways to support and minimize spending and reduce cost to support the company’s financial objectives.
  • Actively engage with key stakeholders from different Business Lines to understand business requirements and incorporate them into the supplier selection and decision-making process.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to align technical and commercial requirements, secure total costs and inculcate long-term partnership with key suppliers.
  • You will have exposure to high level business decision making and the chance to work with various stakeholders. Amongst them: a mature global procurement team, suppliers, site planners & senior management (Directors & Vice Presidents). On top of that, the opportunity to drive and lead global continuous improvement projects.
  • Due to the nature of the job, travel (15 – 20 %), mainly within US.
  • You will be working in an international procurement team and reporting directly to the Procurement Director of Americas region.

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in a business-related area or industry, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in strategic and operational procurement.
  • Chemical industry experience is a must.
  • Good understanding of complex market dynamics and ability to apply critical thinking to develop effective procurement strategies that balance value with risk mitigation.
  • Advanced negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring smooth collaboration internally and externally.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage people at all levels of the organization in a multicultural setting.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and build organizational alignment.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset.
