As a lightweight filler and blowing agent, they support more efficient processes, cost-effective manufacturing, and high-quality end products across a wide range of applications.

Expancel® microspheres are small spheres encapsulating a gas. When heated, the gas expands while the shell softens, resulting in a dramatic increase in volume.

In 2025, we showcased Expancel® BIO microspheres as part of our exploration of next-generation materials. This forward-looking concept demonstrates how partially bio-based materials can deliver high-performance lightweighting solutions while responding to evolving market needs.
