Key Objectives of the Job

•       Leads a team of account managers and sales support resources. This team positions and sells product of the Expancel and Polysulfides portfolio to customers in Asia

•       Manages the customer base which includes both regular accounts, major distributors, and accounts with high potential for future business

•       Is accountable for the short and long term sales results and profitability that are in line with annual budgets and 5 year plans

•       Is part of the Global Engineered Polymers Management Team and therewith contributes to the global business strategy and designs and implements the sales plan for the region in alignment with Global Marketing

•       Consolidates the regional demand and liaises with Business Planning in order to make sure both short and long term product demand for the region is met



  • Guides the sales team in understanding and assessing customers’ needs in a multitude of industry segments (priority: transportation, building & construction, packaging, others: clothing & apparel, consumer goods)
  • Sets regional business objectives, strategies, and value propositions for the Expancel product portfolio that are derived from the global strategy and objectives. This requires close collaboration with Global Marketing and Sales Management Team
  • Builds, develops and motivates the regional organization with the skills and knowledge to ensure individual success and manage all people related (HR and development) responsibilities
  • Accurately forecasts sales opportunities from a scope, product type, timing, and revenue perspective
  • Establishes and build senior-level relationships with key decision makers and buyers, both internally and externally
  • Serves as a lead contracts negotiator on commercial terms for sales of Expancel and Polysulfides products in Asia
  • Establishes a professional, detailed business plan for executing strategic plans and identifying resources required for implementation:
  1. Leads Account Planning and Sales Forecasting Processes
  2. Drives commercial excellence and continuous improvement
  3. Continuously develops the strategic direction and business model for the organization (price, people, go-to-market, etc)
  4. Owns contract management (RFCA) and ensures CRM usage according to companywide directives.
  • Contributes to the global business strategy by monitoring, analyzing and reporting regional market and competition movements in order to allow global marketing to adapt the business strategy accordingly
  • Ensures management information system/governance/authorization structure is in place and inform higher level on consolidated risks and opportunities
  • Acts as a role model by representing Nouryon’s’s values in his/her leadership and ensures that business in the region is conducted according to company policies and code of conduct.


Quality & Requirements

       Master´s Degree or equivalent in chemistry, chemical engineering, or business administration

       Sales experience from B2B in chemical industry > 5 years

       Strategic insight and business understanding, ability to ability to comprehend market and competition landscape

       Strong ability in building and managing relationships

       Strong ability to manage price, negotiate and closing deals including multi-level contact selling, and manage contracts

       Skilled in identifying and validating business opportunities by understanding customer needs and translating them into a value proposition

       Good understanding of supply chain and internal service processes

       Ability and drive to build, develop, and lead a team, managing its performance and coaching for results.

       Collaborative cross-functional team player

       Excellent communication skills, such as probing, listening and presenting

       Excellent language skills, oral and in writing, in Mandarin  and English

       Embodies passion, the ambition to drive for results, discipline, optimism, has an open mindset, and is self-confident and empathic in his/her demeanor.
