The Process Excellence Lead is responsible for process ownership, analyzing logistics process performance, and identifying improvement opportunities related to logistics operations activities in support of business objectives and priorities
Key responsibilities
• Identify opportunities and drive implementation of continuous process improvement and cost reduction measures to drive operational efficiency and service level improvement; identification and implementation of internal/external best-practice work processes
• Leverage system/automation to improve traceability and operation efficiency
• Monthly performance review data collection, service level tracking and improvement
• Own and manage the end-to-end modal processes
• Conduct critical assessments of current processes to identify root causes of waste or challenges and develop solutions to implement improvements
• Develop or update process maps and conduct value stream mapping to support improvement initiatives
• Develop and manage improvement initiative project plans
• Collect and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas of opportunity, establish baselines, and track improvements
• Assess progress of implemented changes to ensure sustainability of improvement
• Report improvement project plans and status to leadership on an ongoing basis
• Lead and model Nouryon Values to always include driving code of conduct compliance
• Work with global Logistics CoE manager to leverage in/out work process improvements
• Work with global Logistics CoE manager to develop and deploy local and globally consistent operating discipline and associated management systems (i.e. training, procedures, process descriptions, service standards, etc...)
• Other work assigned by manager
Job requirements
• Minimum 10 years continuous improvement experience within logistics / supply chain. Experience with chemical companies is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and abilities
• Ability to lead and manage improvement project activities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives in parallel while adhering to timelines
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, including global team members
• Strong understanding of the transport market across multiple modes
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
• Experience with business process management tools (Visio, Signavio)
• Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word)
• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field from 4-year accredited college or university
