In our European Logistics hub, we have a vacancy for a:
 
International Logistics Manager 
Fulltime, Amersfoort, the Netherlands 
Salary per month: 7.300 – 9.800 EUR before tax
 
Your challenges 
As International Logistics Europe you are responsible for the strategy and execution of daily modal activities and provides planning, guidance, and supervision to 4 Team Supervisors / Specialists responsible for modal logistics planning. The role will lead two teams based in Amersfoort The Netherlands and Goteborg Sweden. The team will consist of approx. 70 people and will have 10 direct reports including customs compliance. 

 

As International Logistics manager you act as Subject Matter Expert for Air and Ocean shipping. You ensure the adherence to both internal as well as to external processes and ensure compliance with Nouryon policies and procedures. You also ensure that the trade compliance program for the company is supported.

 

Nouryon is undergoing a transformation with a change to a new global TMS that will have impact on the current way of working. Managing the teams and organization through this change will be a vital component for the next years.  
 
Your responsibilities include:
•Act as an effective leader and lead by example. You provide leadership and structure for 4 Supervisors managing the business focused teams. You motivate colleagues to become an effective and efficient self-driven team. You also give input to performance reviews, as well as recommendations for hiring, salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions. 
•Managing relationships with logistics providers for international shipments and also with customs brokers and partner government agencies in coordination with Trade Compliance. You also conduct quarterly business reviews with core logistics providers to ensure outlined service requirements are being met and identify performance improvement initiatives. Furthermore, you coordinate with logistics and business leaders to ensure that performance is aligned with organizational needs. 
•Managing SAP and third-party preparation, distribution, and maintenance of all import and export documents for various geographical regions. You ensure all logistics activities are performed at the most optimal cost and customer service level.
•Ensure timely planning, execution, and monitoring of all shipments to ensure customer service needs are met. Moreover, you validate availability and secure transport mode capacity in alignment with expected volumes and forecasts. You coordinate with operations to develop forecasts of modal transportation volume. 
•Support implementation of process improvement and cost reduction measures to drive Operational Excellence. Moreover, you maintain and monitor KPIs and identify and implement improvements where needed.
• Contribute to the logistics transformation journey in Europe.
 
The Supply Planning & Logistics team 
The European logistics team is responsible for all inbound, outbound transportation execution and warehousing. The team is divided into a mainland Europe team based in Amersfoort Netherlands (Mainland) and a team located in Gothenburg Sweden (Nordics). This position is based in Amersfoort and looks after execution to / from our sites and warehouses in Mainland Europe serving customers around the globe.

Have you got what it takes?
To be eligible for this challenging position you have at least 7 years of demonstrated experience in logistics and supply chain. Moreover, you have experience with managing teams, and you like to lead by example. You have strong networking skills and are experienced with stakeholder management. Finally you have a ‘Can do mentality’ and you like to drive organizational change. 
 
Next to this, you have:
• A Bachelor’s diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
• Experience in identifying and executing process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cost and / or improving service level.
• A strong understanding of the International (Ocean) transport market from a Shipper / Carrier / Logistics Provider perspective
• Strong working knowledge of TMS, and MS Excel and Word – SAP knowledge preferrable. 
• Broad experience with logistics providers, customs brokers, and government agency relationship management and performance evaluations.
• Demonstrated SME level of understanding of international shipping requirements. 
• Broad Change Management experience 
• Strong understanding of Transport Safety - Dangerous Goods / IMO regulations  
• Passion for International logistics and going the extra (sea) mile.
