The Nouryon Polymer Specialties business is the world's leading producer of organic peroxides, metal alkyls, and organometallic specialties. These are essential ingredients for the polymer industry. Sustainability is becoming more and more important for Nouryon, the polymer industry, and the world we operate in. Therefore, our R&D program is focusing on sustainable chemical products, applications, and processes, all produced safely.

Our worldwide operating R&D center with more than 200 highly skilled Researchers, is located in Deventer, the Netherlands. Here, focused project teams work to meet current and future customer needs, and to develop new innovative products and new applications for existing products.

Your challenge as Researcher Polymer Specialties

 

In this role as a Researcher and member of the Process and Product Research group, you will carry out exploratory research leading to new organic peroxide products and/or processes, innovating and enhancing technologies and methodologies. 

 

Creating more sustainable waste free processes and products based on renewable sources is a key characteristic of your job and a strong focus of the business unit Polymer Specialties.

 

You will actively interact with other team members exchanging ideas and knowledge. On a regular basis you will work in close collaboration in multidisciplinary projects together with application teams, commercial teams, analytical department, safety experts and technology group. Additionally, you will be tasked with organizing your findings, participating in R&D meetings, and writing comprehensive technical reports to communicate your insights effectively.

 

You will get the opportunity to lead projects and report to management on progress and discuss issues and solutions. Part of your job also includes supporting our production facilities worldwide. You will also get in-house training courses such as working safely with organic peroxides, application courses and project management courses.

 

Have you got what it takes?

 

To be eligible for this exciting position, you have a deep interest in chemistry. You bring a hands-on mentality to the lab and you are able to exchange ideas and pursue new challenges together with colleagues. Furthermore, you have/ are:

 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in synthetic chemistry.
  • Preferably minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Flexible, result oriented, and a team player.
  • Proven skills in synthetic organic chemistry and analysis.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Good language skills in English, written and spoken.
