The E&I Technician is responsible for conducting routine preventive maintenance and calibrations on electrical and instrument equipment and components. Conducting troubleshooting and repairs of electrical and instrument equipment and components. Installing new electrical and instrument equipment and components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete preventive maintenance and calibrations on various electrical control system components and equipment, including weight, level, flow, temperature, pressure and other control instruments
• Routinely conduct troubleshooting and repairs to the equipment and instrumentation listed above
• Install and set up the components listed above as required by replacement or new projects
• Maintain historical and information files for the equipment listed above
• Communicate repetitive electrical and instrument equipment issues so that they can be eliminated
• Maintain computerized database for instrument calibrations
• Assist with training mechanics on basic electrical and instrument equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Assist with maintaining safe and proper operation of test equipment and E&I workshop
• Complete other general maintenance departmental objectives as required
• Team members must operate under any applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when performing functions within their role
Skills, Education and Certification Requirements
• 2 year degree in industrial electrical /electronics /instrumentation preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience maintaining industrial electrical components and electronic control devices (flow, pressure, temperature, level) and associated control loops
• Troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical and instrument equipment, control loops, PLC’s, AC drives and Digital Control Systems
• Fluent with electronic/electrical testing devices and instrumentation
• General electrical installation and maintenance skills
• Work Experience at a chemical plant preferred
• Experience with computerized maintenance systems, specifically SAP
• Knowledge/Experience of operation and maintenance of plant utilities (i.e. steam, compressed air, cooling towers, chillers, HVAC, etc.) a plus
• Facilities maintenance experience (utilities, service contractors, general facilities upkeep) a plus
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be hands-on
• PSM experience preferred
• Experience with basic computer software programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
