Legal Counsel, Asia Pacific

In your future role as Legal Counsel, Asia Pacific” you will

 

  • Be the lead counsel for several businesses and interacts with (senior) business leadership. Manage and provide legal advice and support to business, functions, and manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, where needed in consultation with external counsel, in the drafting and hands on negotiation of a variety of commercial and other agreements and corporate documents and with solid sense of appropriate risk management in navigating complex operational issues.  Liaison with outside counsel on HSE, litigation and other legal matters. Conduct legal trainings to colleagues. Work on M&A and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.

 

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Bachelor in law from an accredited law school in China, master in law from a Chinese/overseas university, passed Chinese Bar Examination;
  • 6-10 years PQE with both law firm and inhouse background, MNC inhouse background or manufacturing industry background preferred;
  • Experiences in HSE, M&A, antitrust related laws preferred;
  • Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (including government investment agreement, sales and purchase contracts, distribution agreements, agency agreements, engineering contracts) and other legal documents including board resolutions, articles of association and M&A related contracts (such as share purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, asset transfer agreements);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong business acumen and high integrity;
  • Team-Player; ability to work well and build relationships across all levels of the organization and be highly effective and able to maximize the efficiency of the legal department; have the desire to work on numerous and varied matters arising in an in-house legal department.
  • Business Focus – business-orientation with the ability to drive innovative solutions and strategies in a fast-paced environment, and to appropriately balance risk with the need for the business to take action.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese;
  • Willing to travel as assigned.
