About the job

As Regional Category Manager you will perform the category management for Lab and Facilities Management within the EMEA region where you will lead the networks internally (Nouryon stakeholders) and externally (suppliers) related to the managed categories. Additional to that you will also lead the cost-down programs and maximize contract coverage for these categories.

In your future role as Category Manager you will

• Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management.
• Work with Stakeholders in understanding the regional spend and identifying opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money.
• Develop, align, implement and execute the Category Strategies for the region to increase business efficiency.
• Develop and maintain the stakeholder networks in the region (CAPEX Procurement Managers, site asset & project management, finance legal, etc.) and educate key stakeholders about strategic sourcing.
• Develop and execute effective negotiation and contracting strategies including developing and negotiating Framework Agreements with suppliers, in cooperation with Nouryon’s legal team.
• Perform procurement reporting.
• Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide savings and / or process efficiencies for the organization.
• Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.

We believe you bring

• A bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or Science.
• 5 years in Category Management, preferably in the (petro) chemical industry.
• 5 years in contract management and business relationship management.
• 3 years in change management (strategy, stakeholder, alignment, planning, execution, maintaining).
• 3 years in procurement category management.

Great if you have

• Experience with SAP and Ariba.

• Able to influence people and selling concepts and ideas.  
• A true team player capable to handle strategic and operational challenges in a pragmatic approach.

We offer you

You will have the chance to work with various stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Amongst them is a mature procurement team, senior management teams and several site functions, and of course also suppliers all over Europe or in other regions. Our employment package comprises:

• A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
• A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 69,069 and EUR 108.075.
• 25 vacation days + 10 leave days.
• An end-of-year bonus.

Good to know

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Amsterdam, Gothenburg or Mumbai. You will be reporting to the Global Category Leader based in either the United States or Europe.
