About the job
As a Process & Quality Control Manager, you will be working at the Chemiepark Delfzijl in our Monochloroacetic acid factory (MCA). In this factory, we react chlorine gas with acetic acid. This creates raw monochloroacetic acid that is purified in a number of steps. The monochloroacetic acid forms an auxiliary substance that can serve as a thickening agent in foodstuffs, personal care products, wallpaper paste and sustainable, phosphate-free detergents and dishwashing detergents.
At the MCA factory, everything revolves around safety, operational reliability and process efficiency. Because the current person in the role will be promoted we are now looking for his replacement.
In this position, the focus is on optimising the processes and the performance of the factory, for more continuity, better manageability of the quality and - very important for a BRZO company - continuous improvement of process safety..
In your future role as Process & Quality Control Manager you will
- Optimize plant processes, process development, production monitoring and process safety
- Steer organization to meet sustainability and productivity targets
- Lead a group for the long-term development of production processes for the assigned plants.
- Ensure that projects and MOC’s are conducted in full compliance with authority’s and Nouryon’s requirements
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable laws and internal rules and procedures and that deviations are documented, investigated and that measures are taken.
- Ensure that the commercial products from assigned site are produced, controlled, released and distributed according to the Management System, global quality regulations and company directives
- Own all HSE and personnel matters within own department.
- Establish supporting documents in the business area and investment plans.
- Own the overall plant Capex investment budget and PQC department’s budget
- Actively promote a culture of Continuous Improvement both within and outside own department.
- Own Process Safety Management, including Management of Change and HAZOP / SIL and periodic review of risk analysis.
We believe you bring
- Master of Science in chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent
- At least 5 years working experience in a similar role.
- Experience from chemical process industry including chemicals manufacturing
- Solid knowledge about HSE regulations and experience in HSE&S work
- Fluent in English and Dutch language, both written and spoken
We believe you are
- Able to break down large problems into smaller, more manageable components; identifies key factors that influence the viability of different solutions
- Able to critically reviews work processes to ensure quality

- A permanent contract with a probationary period of 2 months.
- A gross basic annual salary including holiday allowance based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 75,250 and EUR 117,400.

Good to know
This is a permanent position on a full-time basis, based in Delfzijl. You will be reporting to the Site Manager who is also based in Delfzijl.
