Chemical Operator

In your future role as a Chemical Operator, you will

 

  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of safety with all applicable regulations (Nouryon and regulatory).
  • Actively participate in BBS program.
  • Conduct 5S activities for the production area.
  • Conduct autonomous maintenance in production area (including motor lubrication, boiler operations, failure identification, etc.).
  • Produce finished products (including blended products) using the documented operating procedures in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner.
  • Analyze in-process, finished product, and raw materials using documented lab procedures.
  • Receive raw materials in accordance with documented work procedures and schedule delivery of bulk raw material as ordered by the Plant Scheduler and Planner.
  • Ensure site security outside of regular business hours (including weekends and holidays).
  • Qualified to operate all manufacturing processes of the Augusta site.
  • Log and account for production, quality data, and losses.
  • Keep workplace and tools in order and accessible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or the Site Manager.
  • Follow the process and procedures.
  • Operates the plant within the specified control limits.
  • Empowered to make decisions within defined boundaries.
  • Ensure site security outside of regular business hours (including weekends and holidays).
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts.

 

We believe you bring

 

  • High school diploma or GED required with >5 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Ability to do basic math calculations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems while maintaining a timely and cost effective approach.
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP R/3, Delta V.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various employee groups, contractors and management.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Requires daily contact with employees in other departments.
  • Requires daily contact with shipping Co personnel.
  • Ability to work shifts.
  • Overtime coverage is required, particularly for short-notice absences of other
    shift members.
  • May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time.
  • May use hand tools and operate fixed and mobile plant equipment.
