About the job:

 

This role is responsible for expanding Nouryon’s presence among Tier 2–3 customers in the personal care industry, both directly and through a strong distribution network. You will play a key part in maintaining a profitable business while driving toward defined growth objectives. The position involves overseeing day-to-day commercial activities as well as shaping and executing a long-term growth strategy through lead development, customer engagement, innovation, and product commercialization.

 

In your future role as a Distribution Account Manager-Personal Care, you will:

 

  • Drive sales and profitability across assigned accounts, delivering both short- and long-term financial and strategic goals.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Prepare budgets and maintain accurate monthly forecasts aligned with regional and segment targets.
  • Deliver forecasted and budgeted volumes and report key market and customer insights.
  • Develop strategic account plans based on customer needs, Nouryon’s value proposition, and the competitive landscape.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of growth opportunities, documented and monitored through the CRM.
  • Maintain and strengthen multi-level relationships with direct customers and distributors.
  • Ensure distributors effectively represent Nouryon’s products, achieve sales targets, and maintain strong product knowledge.
  • Build strong partnerships with distributor regional and district managers and elevate executive-level relationships with key distributor stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the corporate distribution team to support HPC and overall Nouryon distribution strategy.
  • Monitor and follow up on payment terms, rebate agreements, and overdue accounts.
  • Track market trends and competitive activities to inform strategy and actions.

 

 

We believe you bring:

 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, formulation science, or business; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • More than 10 years of experience in sales or technical service, with a proven ability to build strong customer relationships and translate technical or market knowledge into opportunity development and sales growth; experience in the personal care industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret key performance and financial data to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders; a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in using forecasting and sales-tracking tools to support business planning and execution.

 

 

Good to know:
 

  • This is a full-time remote-based position, reporting directly to the Sales Manager of Personal Care.
  • This position requires about 50% travel.

 

Compensation Information:

 

  • The hiring salary range for this position ranges from $109,200 to $156,000, although individuals may eventually progress through the pay scale in this role up to $179,400. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals’ qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. Hired applicants will be eligible to receive annual bonuses.
  • Employees (and their families) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive paid time off and the mandated company holidays throughout the calendar year.
