In your future role as a NAM Category Manager, you will

 

The role of the Category Manager Lab and Facilities Management is very autonomous but is depending on a good network and delivering upon taken commitments with the key-stakeholders.

The strategy, plan and execution are subject to monthly progress and result reporting and reviews.

The position holder will face a high level of complexity and diversity in the categories and supplier base due to the past decentralized business strategy. Hence a critical element of the job will be to align stakeholders and get buy in to drive standardization and consolidation of suppliers, products and services.

The position holder is also expected to select and develop a supplier base that can successfully support the current operations as well as future projects and balance different business needs and requirements effectively.

  • Perform the category management for Technical and Engineering Services within the North America region.
  • Lead the networks internally (Nouryon stakeholders) and externally (suppliers) related to the managed categories.
  • Lead costs down programs for the managed categories.
  • Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management.
  • Work with Stakeholders in understanding the regional spend and identifying opportunities to increase quality and improve value for money.
  • Develop, align, implement and execute the Category Strategies for the region to increase business efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain the stakeholder networks in the region (CAPEX Procurement Managers, site asset & project management, finance legal, etc.) and educate key stakeholders about strategic sourcing.
  • Develop best procurement practices to lead and manage procurement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute effective negotiation and contracting strategies including developing and negotiating Framework Agreements with suppliers, in cooperation with Nouryon’s legal team.
  • Perform procurement reporting.
  • Identify innovative procurement solutions that provide savings and / or process efficiencies for the organization.
  • Drive value (cost savings, cost avoidance, cash positive effect, effectiveness/efficiency, value propositions) to ensure there is a positive impact to Nouryon’s EBITDA.
  • Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors.
  • Develop, align, and maintain the Nouryon list of approved suppliers and coordinate and execute the supplier (pre)-qualification with the relevant disciplines, for the managed categories.
  • Roll-out the category strategies and framework agreements to the sites (project managers, CAPEX Procurement Managers, site asset managers, contract coordinators) in collaboration with the Category Specialists.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective supply markets and product innovations.
  • Conduct market reviews.
  • Support the CAPEX Procurement Managers in developing the Project Procurement Strategies (PPS) and Project Procurement Plans (PPP) with the content related to the managed categories.
  • Leader of the Technical and Engineering Services Network in the region.
  • Member of the Global Technical and Engineering Services Network.
  • Member of the Indirect Procurement Regional Management team.
  • Owner of category strategy and supplier relationships.
  • Maximize contract coverage for the managed categories.

 

 

We believe you bring

 

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Supply Chain, Engineering, or relevant years of experience.
  • 5 years in Category Management, preferably in the (petro)chemical industry.
  • 5 years in contract management and business relationship management.
  • 3 years in change management (strategy, stakeholder, alignment, planning, execution, maintaining).
  • 3 years in procurement category management.
  • Extensive negotiation experience and ability to influence people and selling concepts and ideas.
  • Advanced strategic thinking skills with ability to analyze data, understand interdependencies and develop strategies at a regional or global category level.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people (clear and concise) at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent relationship builder and skilled at managing external contacts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Technical Services unit rates structures.
  • International experience and cultural awareness.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership with a high level of autonomy to develop spend and cost reduction projects and execute on those together with stakeholders and other procurement members.
  • Willingness to work with personal cost targets and having the ability to develop and change strategy and apply various tools and actions to reach targets.
  • Highly effective with stakeholder management and capability to build strong relationship internally and externally.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to analyze data and technical requirements from different angles.
  • Analytical mind set and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) and SAP/Ariba (RFI/RFP, E-Auction, Contract Management).

 

  • Fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset.
  • Regular, approximately 5%.
